5 in 1 Association believe that…

The Bible:

We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, and that none may add thereto

or take away there from except at their own peril. Deuteronomy 4:2, Revelations 22:19 (NKJ)

The Trinity:

We believe that the Godhead eternally exists in three persons, Father, Son and Holy

Spirit and these three are one God. Deuteronomy 6:4, Colossians 2:9, Mathew 28:19,

Isaiah 45:22

The Church:

We believe that the church consists of all persons who have been regenerated by the

Holy Spirit and made new creatures in Christ Jesus. 2nd Corinthians 5:17-18

The Saviour:

We believe that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, and that through

the death and risen power of Jesus Christ, all who believe and confess Jesus as Lord can be saved from the penalty of eternal separation from God and hell.

Psalm 103:4, Isaiah 53:4-6, Acts 4:12

The Healer:

We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ is the Healer, and that healing is provided for

in the atonement. Exodus 15:26, Psalm 103:3, Psalm 147:3, Mark 1: 40-42

The Baptiser:

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Baptiser in the Holy Spirit, and that this

Baptism with signs following is promised to every believer.

Mathew 3:11, Mathew 10:1,

The Coming King:

We believe in the personal return of our Lord Jesus Christ to receive unto Himself all

born again believers. 1st Thessalonians 4: 16-18

The Fruit:

We believe that every believer on the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour should produce

the ninefold fruit of His Spirit - as in Galatians 5:22-23

The Gifts:

We believe that the church should claim and manifest the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit

as in 1st Corinthians 12:6-10

The Ministry:

We believe that God has given some Apostles, and some Prophets and some

Evangelists, and some Pastors and Teachers, for the perfecting of the saints for the

work of the ministry, and for the edifying of the body of Christ. Ephesians 4:11-12

The Future State:

We believe in the resurrection of the dead, the eternal happiness of all true believers

in Christ and the eternal punishment of hell for all Christ rejecters. John 3: 16-18

Heaven and Hell:

We believe in both Heaven and Hell, that Heaven is not a place on earth, or just a symbolic example, but instead is a real place. We also believe that Hell is a real place.

Rev 7: 9-10, 2 Cor 5:1, Duet 26:15, Job 22:12, 1 Pet 1:4, Eph 5:5, 2 Cor 5:1

2 Thes 1:9, Rev 20:14, Jude 1:7

The Ordinances:

We believe in the following Ordinances:

• Partaking of the Lord's Supper in memory of our Lord's death and imminent return Mathew 26:26-29, Luke 22:19-20,

• Baptism by immersion for all believers Mathew 3:11-12 Mark 1:4-5, Mathew 28:19 Acts 2:38 , Acts 10:47

• The Laying on of hands James 5:14

• The Anointing of the Sick with oil James 5:14

The Minister:

We believe that the Minister (and all those in church leadership positions) must live a life which displays adherence to the teachings of the Bible and 5 in 1 Association’s statement of faith.

We believe that the minister must live a life worthy of our Lord Jesus Christ by living in accordance with standards of biblical morality and Christ-like character, and by seeking to grow in the knowledge of God.

We believe that the standards of Biblical morality dictate that a minister must

not engage in sexual immorality, including sexual relationships outside of the

marriage relationship, or homosexuality, a minister must not be a thief, a coveter, a

drunkard, a person who secures money or favours by intimidation or the misuse of

authority, or a worshipper of idols. Colossians 1:10, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10

We believe that worship is our lifestyle and should be central to everything we do.

(Isa 43:21) "God has done so much for us and would have us worship and give glory to Him."

We believe that we need to care for one another because we are God's children, we are family. (Heb 10:24) "And let us consider and give attentive, continuous care to watching over one another, studying how we may stir up to love and do helpful deeds and noble activities."

(2 Cor 6:1) "As God's fellow workers laboring together with Him then, we beg of you not to receive the grace of God in vain - that merciful kindness by which God exerts His holy influences on souls and turns them to Christ, keeping and strengthening them, do not receive it to no purpose."

Win the Lost

We believe that "Jesus came to seek and to save the Lost", i.e. those having no relationship with their Maker. We believe in each individual being an example and a witness in their daily life. Jesus said that if we will GO and preach the Gospel - He will be with us.

   Him we preach” Col 1:28
